Who you are:
β An approachable, charismatic, customer service-oriented person with excellent communication skills
β A self-motivated individual, willing and able to work both independently and under supervision
β A team player, able to problem-solve within a dynamic work environment
β An individual who is physically able to lift average weight, and would be comfortable being exposed to the sun for an extended period of time
β Have basic nautical knowledge of the Halifax Harbour and surrounding areas
β Have an interest in learning about the history of Halifax and in showcasing its harbour
Sea Kayak Tour Guide
Qualifications required:
β Paddle Canada level 1 Sea Kayak certification*
β Marine Basic First Aid certificate or Waterfront Lifeguard*
*Considered an asset if you have it already. Must be obtained before the season starts if awarded the position.
Responsibilities:
β Leading Sea Kayak guided tours, while providing information and showcasing distinct harbour sights
β Opening and/or closing the shop, as well as setting-up and maintaining daily operations
β Assisting customer with bookings, cancellations and other inquiries
β Processing rental agreements and payments
β Fitting customers with necessary safety gear
β Explaining all safety procedures of operating a Sea Kayak
β Assisting customers with check-in and check-out procedures
β Aiding customers who are on the water, when necessary
β Other duties and responsibilities, as assigned by management
Sea-doo Tour Guide
Qualification required:
β Canadian Boating License*
β Marine Basic First Aid certificate or Waterfront Lifeguard*
*Considered an asset if you have it already. Must be obtained before the season starts if awarded the position.
Responsibilities:

Responsibilities:
β Opening and/or closing the shop, as well as setting-up and maintaining daily operations
β Assisting customer with bookings, cancellations, and other inquiries

β Fitting customers with necessary safety gear
β Explaining all safety procedures of operating a Sea-Doo
β Assisting customers with check-in and check-out procedures
β Leading and guiding Sea-Doo rentals and tours
β Aiding customers who are on the water, when necessary
β Other duties and responsibilities, as assigned by management
Boat Captain - Full time/Part time
Qualifications required:
Small Vessel Operator Proficiency license (SVOP)
VHF Radio License
Marine Basic First Aid certificate
*Considered an asset if you have it already. Must be obtained before the season starts if awarded with the position.
Responsibilities:
Operating and providing tours in a 25ft Jet powered vessel
Opening and/or closing of the shop, setting up the daily operation and customer space
Assisting customer with bookings, cancellations and other general questions
Process rental agreements and payments
Fitting customers with the necessary gear
Explain all the safety briefing and procedures
Aiding customers who require assistance on the water when necessary
Other tasks assigned by management
